The ball of a ball valve is floating, and under the pressure of the medium, the ball can produce a certain displacement and press tightly against the sealing surface at the outlet end, ensuring the sealing of the outlet end. The floating ball valve has a simple structure and good sealing performance, but the load of the working medium borne by the ball is all transmitted to the outlet sealing ring. Therefore, it is necessary to consider whether the sealing ring material can withstand the working load of the ball medium. When subjected to high pressure impact, the ball may deviate.
Structural Features
Floating soft sealed stainless steel ball valves are used on various pipelines from PN16 to PN64, for cutting off or connecting media in pipelines. Different materials are selected and can be applied to various media such as water, steam, oil, liquefied gas, natural gas, coal gas, acetic acid, oxidizing media, urea, etc.
a. Among various valves, ball valves have the lowest flow resistance. When a full diameter ball valve is opened, the ball passage, valve body passage, and connecting pipe diameter are equal and form one diameter, and the medium can flow through almost without resistance.
. b. The ball valve can be fully closed and fully opened by rotating 90 °, with quick opening and closing. Compared with gate valves and globe valves of the same specifications, ball valves have smaller volume, lighter weight, and are easier to install in pipelines.
