The 14th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum

Exhibition Introduction

The SPIGF Forum is supported by the Russian Ministry of Energy, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the St. Petersburg Government. SPIGF 2024 has demonstrated that Russia, as a major hydrocarbon producer and supplier, has not become isolated. On the contrary, the forum's geographical reach has expanded, with active participation from countries in the Asia-Pacific region, Africa, and the Arab world.

In 1812, Russia installed its first gas lamps, and in 1835, the Gas Lighting Society was established in St. Petersburg, with the first gas plant built along the Neva River. Today, Russia has numerous private gas companies, and the development path of its natural gas market will be shaped by the new centers of global economic growth. Russia is currently accelerating natural gas infrastructure projects in the Global South and Asia-Pacific, creating more business opportunities for these regions.

Gazprom has been collaborating with Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan for decades. Now, this cooperation has reached a new level, with all parties setting 15-year development goals and preparing long-term contractual frameworks.
