Two pressure passage holes in the SBX ring cross-section prevent pressure lock when connections are made up underwater. Two options are provided for drilling the pressure passage holes. 

A plus tolerance of 0,2 mm (0,008 in) for width A  and height H is permitted, provided the variation in width or height of any ring does not exceed 0,1 mm (0,004 in) along its entire circumference.
